چکیده
Abstract--6G networks will be required to support higher data rates, improved energy efficiency, lower latency, and more diverse users compared with 5G systems. To meet these requirements, electrically extremely large-scale antenna arrays are envisioned key physical-layer technologies. As a consequence, it is expected that some portion of future 6G wireless communications may take place in the radiating near-field (Fresnel) region, addition far-field operation as current In this article, we discuss opportunities challenges arise communications. We begin by discussing physical characteristics communications, where standard plane-wave propagation assumption no longer holds, clarifying its implication on modelling channels. Then, elaborate ability leverage spherical wavefronts via beam focusing, highlighting advantages for point out several appealing application scenarios which, proper design, can benefit from operation, including interference mitigation multiuser accurate localization focused sensing, well power transfer minimal pollution. conclude design research directions yet explored fully harness potential operation.

How Dense is Ultra-Dense for Wireless Networks: From Far- to Near-Field Communications
Besides advanced telecommunications techniques, the most prominent evolution of wireless networks is the densification of network deployment. In particular, the increasing access points/users density and reduced cell size significantly enhance spatial reuse, thereby improving network capacity. Nevertheless, does network ultra-densification and over-deployment always boost the performance of wir...

This thesis provides a comprehensive study of the coupling phenomena that occur in plasmonic nanostructures. Electromagnetic coupling between metallic nanoparticles leads to strong spectral modifications in the structures, which are determined using linear optical spectroscopy in the visible and infrared wavelength range. In contrast to previous investigations, the key aspect here are the prope...
متن کاملNon-Linear Far Field RF Harvesting in Wireless Communications
A linear radio frequency (RF) harvesting model is commonly assumed in recent simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) research, i.e., RF harvested power is assumed a scaled version of the input (received) power. However, rectifiers typically used in the microwave and radio frequency identification (RFID) industry are non-linear devices; thus, RF harvesting efficiency is not ...

Using the inverse diffractive grating problem as an example, we demonstrate how a super-resolution can be achieved stably by using far-field data. The idea is to place a slab of a homogeneous medium with a large index of refraction above the grating surface, and more propagating wave modes can be utilized from the far-field data which contributes to the reconstruction resolution. © 2016 Elsevie...
متن کاملSeismic Behavior of Jacket Offshore Platform Subjected to Near and Far Field Ground Motions
Offshore structures such as jacket platforms have to inevitably be designed against sever environmental actions. In seismically active areas these structures also become susceptible to earthquake excitations. Strong ground motions recorded in recent earthquakes, including the 1995 Kobe, Japan, 1999 Chi-chi, Taiwan and 1999 Kocaeli, Turkey earthquakes, revealed that the dynamic motions in nea...
